Step-by-step instructions :
You must do either step 1d (preselection) or step 3 (in-tool selection) to perform this operation.The following instructions assume that you are using a 3-button mouse.
1 . Before using this tool:
1a : Open ( Ctrl + o ) and select a view that shows the grid line(s) you want to move.
1b (recommended) : It is generally a good idea to turn depth checking off so that you can, in the confirmation step (step 6), see any members that are stretched or moved as a result of their ends being pinned to views that are moved.
1c (as needed) : Edit member ends as needed to open the Member End Edit window and pin or unpin member ends to views that you will be moving.

Select Items bindings (step 1d) 1d (optional) : Set the selection filter to ' Grid Lines '. Use Select or Select+ (or draw an area box ) to select the grid lines that you want to move.
2 . Invoke Move View using one (1) of the following methods:
Method 1 : Click the Move View icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' File -- Views/Grids ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).
Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose File > Views/Grids > Move View .
Method 3 & 4 : Move View can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .
Method 5 : If you preselected a view (in step 1b), you can right-click and choose " Move Grid " on the context menu .
3 . Skip this step if you already selected grid line(s) in step 1b.

3a (if you didn't do 1b) : Move View activates Select Item(s) mouse bindings, and the status line prompts you to " Select grid lines ." Press the Enter key or right-click ( Menu ) and choose " OK " on the context menu when you are done selecting.
4 . Locate - Pan - Return mouse bindings become active along with various Locate options. The status line prompts, "Locate a reference point:"

Alternative 1 : Select the Locate icon you want (if its not pressed already), then place your mouse pointer (
) so that the point location target (
) snaps to where you want the reference point, then left-click ( Locate ). Go to step 5.
Alternative 2 : Right-click ( Return ) to end the Move View operation and keep everything as it was before step 1. Do not continue.
5 . The status line prompts, "Locate second point:"

5a : Place the mouse pointer (

) snaps to a point that is the direction and distance that you want the selected gird lines to be moved with respect to the reference point, then left-click ( Locate ).
6 . Move View moves the grid lines and any members whose ends are pinned to the grid lines. Yes-No mouse bindings become active and the status line prompts, "Confirm move?"

Alternative 1 : Left-click ( Yes ) to confirm that the grid line(s) and members pinned to them have been properly relocated.
Alternative 2 : right-click ( No ) to end the Move View operation and keep everything as it was before step 1.
